Privacy policy
Convenience translation. The German version of this page (Datenschutzerklärung) is the legally binding one.
This notice describes how data is processed when you visit this website and when you contact Pixl Works.
1. Controller
2. Hosting and server logs
The website is provided on a server administered by us at netcup. When you open it, the server infrastructure processes technical connection data. This includes in particular the IP address, time, requested URL, HTTP status, amount of data transferred, and information sent by the browser such as the browser identifier and, where applicable, the referring page (referrer).
The processing serves to provide the website, analyse errors and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the reliable and secure operation of the website.
The server configuration uses size-based log rotation: the affected log files are rotated during the rotation run once they reach 10 MiB, and up to ten rotated files are kept. The actual storage period therefore depends on traffic volume. Deletion after a fixed number of days is currently not set up.
3. Server-side web statistics
The hosting system Plesk has GoAccess enabled to evaluate server logs. Among other things, page views, access times, status codes, referrers and technical browser details can be evaluated. No external analytics script is loaded into your browser for this.
The evaluation serves to understand technical usage and to detect errors. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log rotation described above concerns the raw logs; it is not a commitment on the retention period of statistics reports generated from them.
4. Language choice and local content
The language of the homepage is chosen by the address: / is German, /en/ is English. The website stores nothing in your browser for this and sets no cookies; the page code uses neither Local Storage nor Session Storage.
Fonts, images and the interactive pixel demo are loaded from our own web server; the demo is not a live AI service and does not send any input to an AI provider.
5. Contact by email
The contact form uses a mailto: call. It opens your email program; it does not send your input through a form server. Only when you send the message from your email program do we receive the details it contains, such as name, email address or phone number and message text.
We use this data to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for an enquiry about a contract, or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for other business correspondence.
Contact details and messages are processed for as long as they are needed to handle the enquiry, to carry out a collaboration, or to establish or defend legal claims. Statutory retention obligations may require longer storage, in particular for accounting and business records. The privacy terms of your own email program and email provider apply to those.
6. Recipients and external links
Technical hosting and email services may require processing by the infrastructure providers used. Beyond that, we only pass on data where this is necessary to handle your order, where you have consented, or where there is a legal obligation.
The link to Impact & Tales and other external links are ordinary references, not embedded content. When you open one, you leave our website. The privacy notices on the target page apply there. A partnership alone does not mean your enquiry is passed on automatically.
7. Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.
Objection: You can object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation.
To do so, contact hi@pixlworks.at. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
